Full disclosure: I moved to Toronto and neither my Swift or Suburban will pass Ontario smog tests without some serious work. See I undid the emissions crap a long time ago on both...
But pre-1988 vehicles are smog exempt here so I'm going old school. The car in question is a cool $2,000 for a 1969 Chrysler Newport with a 383 V8. I commute to work via train every day and drive less than 200km monthly so my cars don't have to be practical at all.
Cars? Well that's because I'm closing a deal this weekend on a neglected but running 1971 Opel GT. What do you guys think?

Will do! It's turquoise and pristine as far as I can tell. Nobody buys four-door 60's cars and the prices are amazing!

Yeah I think I'm going to get a 4 door muscle car for my next car. Two door prices are just out of control.

Even if it's rusted, $2K is an awesome deal for a running, big block (hell, even small block) car.

I just spent the afternoon test driving a 70's American land yacht for my next DD. If you've never driven an old car before, and you find a bit of open road, stand on the brakes and watch what does (and doesn't) happen.

If you buy this I will buy you one whole tank of gas if I can take a 20-30 minute drive with this. My dream cars are land yachts also.

My previous daily was a 1966 Impala with four wheel MANUAL drums. I can live with it haha but don't drive in the rain with those drums!

If you're in the Toronto area I'd be more than happy to let you drive it if you're serious. I'm all about letting people experience old cars.

That's what I'm thinking. And if you price it by the pound then it's a GREAT deal haha

Agreed. What cars are you looking at?

Hi cletus! How have you been?
Sorry your Swift won't pass emissions. The Opel GT seems like a cool car. Nothing wrong with the Newport, either.
Are diesel cars exempt from emissions testing? Many places that have these inspections exempt diesel cars.

Hey nice to see a familiar name! I've been well. I actually scored my dream job and now I make videos for an auto publication. I'll keep the name a secret so I can speak freely on here.
And that's a really good thought! What are you driving these days?

Are you in the GTA? Are there any car meet ups or something you know of soon or something like that? I've been too lazy to start looking.

Glad to hear about your awesome job. I have a 96 ES300 (Camry) with gold badges, and a sunroof! (My old ES250 didn't have a sunroof or leather)

You sir are awesome!!! I live in Ottawa but should be in Toronto in July. Hell I would make the trip just for that. I'll keep you informed. This would totally make my entire summer.

Was thinking about Pontiac Catalinas, Oldsmobile 88 and 98, Plymouth Satellite and Fury, and Ford Galaxies. Mostly interested in the late 60's designs. I really like stacked headlights.
